The Access Industry Forum is hosting the Work at Height Zone at the upcoming Safety & Health Expo 2013, with edge protection and ladder safety two issues likely to make the agenda.
Safety & Health 2013 is due to begin on May 14th at the NEC in Birmingham, but it is the second day that could be of most interest to anyone with an awareness of the importance of edge protection.
At 12:40pm, the Ladder Association is presenting a 20-minute session outlining basic guidance for the safe use of ladders and steps.
This may incorporate safety ladders, which typically include a surrounding cage to prevent users from being able to fall.
Even if they don’t make it into the lunchtime session however, safety ladders are one variety of edge protection that could come up later in the day.
At 1:30pm, the Edge Protection Federation is also due to present to delegates, this time in a 20-minute session on new concepts within the industry.
For those with a need for edge protection, the three-day Expo is likely to be useful, with the sessions dedicated to ladders and working at height likely to be particularly valuable to those who attend.
